Olan Montgomery, sometimes called only Olan,[1] is an American pop-artist and actor[2]notable for his pop-art portraits of both celebrities and unknown people[3], and for his depictions of the Gay party scene.[4] He employs a technique where transfers his own photographs to canvas, in order to embue photographic portraits with color. Village Voice art critic Michael Musto described the artist as "upping the subculture".[5] Olan Montgomery co-starring on Boardwalk Empire[6][7], Season 2, episode 8 "Peg of Old"[8]directed by Allen Coulter [9]as an Irish bartender, original air date November 6, 2011. He is based in New York but was born in Georgia.[5]
